Great nutrition starts with taking these steps:

一致的餐

1. Aim for a consistent meal schedule.

的 goal would be to eat within 2 hours of getting up in the morning, then eat a meal or snack every 3-4 hours stopping 2 hours before going to bed. That way we fuel our body consistently all day long.

2. Eat balanced meals and snacks.

It's natural energy without caffeine! Eating a food from each food group (protein, 粮食, fruit and veggie) at every meal and a protein and one other food group combo for a snack not only gives us energy but also reduces cravings for salt and sugar.

喝水

3. 保持水分!

We should be drinking ½ our body weight in ounces of water throughout the day, plus more if we sweat or exercise. Try drinking 2 cups upon waking, 2 cups with each meal/snack, 2杯之前, during and after a workout, and 2杯之前 bed.

Get the most out of your workout by learning how to properly fuel your body! Studies show improvement to muscular strength in as little as 3 weeks when a few key eating strategies are put into place. Stop by the 君主的燃料 table located in various locations on campus to chat with ODU's campus dietitian about sports nutrition. This is a drop-in event.
